Site: 9.8 / 10
Customer Support: 9.7 / 10
Products: 9.0 / 10

Comments: Pointnbid is a new penny auction website based in Australia but also hosts auctions in the US, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and Great Britain. Pointbid has a lot of great features especially when considering that it is a new penny auction site. Pointnbid has Buy It Now and Bid Star (similar to a bid butler). I love sites with Buy It Now because even if you don't win the auction you don't necessarily have to lose money on the bids you spend. I love the design and the quality of Pointnbid's website. It is straight-forward and easy to use. Pointnbid also does not use shills or auto-bidders. I respect any site that does so.

Quibids Valentine's Sweepstakes

Quibids is having a Valentine's Sweepstakes starting on February 1st. This is really exciting! I can't wait to see what prices they are going to give away. The sweepstakes was announced on the Quibids site and the Quibids Facebook page.

Below is the text in the Quibids official advertisement:

"We are excited to let you know a Sweepstakes is coming really soon. Why..."Lets just say we're sharing the love." We'll be giving away tons of products so you definitely don't want to miss this one!
Hint: Starts February 1st
Coming soon to a heart near you!"

Beezid Promotion - February 9th and 10th

On February 9th and 10th Beezid will have a "Post Game Blitz" following the Super Bowl. All auctions will end either when the timer stops or when the item price reaches 25% of the retail price. Thus all items will be a guaranteed 75% off! Also, win limits will be increased for the 9th and 10th. For more information read the news article below.

Industry leading penny auction site Beezid is giving back to their users with a promotion unlike any in the history of the penny auction industry. Guaranteed savings of 75-99% off retail and consequence-free bidding for 48 hours!
Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) January 28, 2011
Industry leader Beezid.com has raised the bar once again. Beezid’s constant innovations continue to change the face of the Penny Auction world. Along with 500 daily auctions, Beezid’s users are benefitting time and again by being part of a site that offers services and features that put them head and shoulders above the competition.
Beezid has produced many innovations in the last year alone, pioneering concepts like the Sniper, to compliment the site’s AutoBeezid function which allows users to stay in the game if their AutoBeezid isn’t set to the appropriate limit for the auction they’re involved with. BidDNA, a system that shows users exactly what auction winners pay per bid for any particular auction and of course, the already legendary “get-your-bids-back/price freeze” promotion.
“We wanted to kick off 2011 with a bang and Beezid’s Postgame Blitz is a great way for us to do that.” says Beezid CEO Max Bohbot.
By offering users the chance to get back every bid placed in an auction and enjoy a price freeze of a minimum 50% off retail, Beezid created a Penny Auction phenomenon for “Beezid’s Birthday Bash.” All of this adds up to a recipe for huge savings and a whole lot of happy Beezidders.
The question is what’s the next step? The answer is simple. Give Beezid users more of what they want the most, higher win limits and even bigger savings for twice as long!
“The Bid Back promotion we offered for our Birthday was a tremendous success. We did it two more times and now, due to overwhelming demand we’re doing it again, with a twist.” Bohbot continued.
The twist: February 9th and 10th, Beezid users will enjoy higher win limits to allow them to win more auctions than ever before, prices frozen at 25% of retail, guaranteeing savings of an unbelievable 75-99% off retail and best of all, 48 hours straight of Beezid’s biggest promotion to date, allowing users to get every bid placed credited right back into their accounts as soon as the auction they bid on is completed.
That’s a minimum of 75% off retail, every bid placed credited right back to your account as soon as the auction closes, new and improved higher win limits and best of all, 48 hours to enjoy the biggest savings the Penny Auction world has ever seen. Right after the Super Bowl, February 9th and 10th at Beezid.com!
Those who have never tried Beezid before should not miss out on this special event. Registration is quick and easy and new users will receive ten free bids with no obligation.
About Beezid, com – BEEZID.com is a top rated penny auction website which offers a thrilling spin on online auction shopping. Users take advantage of huge discounts on brand new, brand name products by forming bidding strategies and by using bonuses and incentives offered by Beezid. Launched in 2009, BEEZID.com is one of the biggest, most frequently visited and most-trusted sites of its kind world-wide.

LetsGoBidding Going Out of Business

LetsGoBidding just announced today that they will be going out of business. There last auction will be on Sunday night. I am sad to see them go, but this is a VERY competitive industry and they just couldn't compete with the big dogs. I am very glad that they are closing business honestly. Most sites never even declare when their last auction is or that they are going out of business. Below is the message LetsGoBidding sent their customers via email today:

Dear Members,

It is with regret that the staff and management of www.letsgobidding.com announce that this Sunday night, January 30th, 2011, will be our last auction.

We worked very hard to bring you an experience that was fun, exciting, and a cut above the rest of the market. We think we achieved that on many levels.

However, it has no longer become feasible to continue operations beyond Sunday evening.

Rest assured that everything will continue just as it always has until then. In fact, we're gearing up to to make our final auctions on Sunday night the best we've ever had! And, you'll be able to purchase bids for the final auctions until the last item sells.

We want to thank each and everyone of you for signing up. We hope you had as much fun visiting our site as we did bringing it to you.

Sincerely,
The Staff and Management

Bid Penny Review:
Site: 9.5 / 10
Customer Support: 10 / 10
Products: 9.5 / 10

Comments: LuckyChic is my new favorite site. It is different from other penny auction sites because it really isn't a penny auction site. It is a "dime" auction site. Prices increase by $0.10 instead of one penny. For this reason, do pay attention on what you are bidding on as the price does increase rather quickly. I used LuckyChic for the first time today. It is a great site and I did not sense any shills or bots. You receive 3 chips when you register and it only took me 2 chips to win a $10 Dunkin' Doughnuts gift card. The auction ended at $0.50 and shipping was $1.75. Thus, for $2.25 I got the gift card for 78% off retail price. Another thing I like about LuckyChic is that you can contact them any way you want: email, phone, mail.

Bid Penny Review:
Site: 8.2 / 10
Customer Support: 8.5 / 10
Products: 9.0 / 10

Comments: LuxeWin is a great penny auction site if you like designer handbags and gift cards to designer stores. I tried LuxWin
for the first time today. When I signed up I got 5 free bids. I bid on a wallet but did not win with the 5 free bids I had. My main complaint with the site is that it is hard to read the red text that pops up when you bid. I would also like to see more than one method of contact.

Coupons and Promotions For January 26th 2011

Two great promotions are on PAC and PAP today.

On Penny Auction Coupon Bid66.com is selling 25 bids for just $5. This is a great penny auction site. Bid66 sells a lot of BIG TICKET items like TVs, Computers, Vacuums, Snow Blowers and so on.

Where Does Quibids Get Their Items?

Where does Quibids get their items? This is a question that a lot of penny auction bidders ask when bidding on Quibids or any other penny auction website. The answer varies site by site. Where penny auction sites get their items is mostly determined by the auction site's sales volume.

Small Volume Sites:
When sites are small (just a few hundred orders a day or less) they will fulfill their products in-house. Most penny auction sites don't have the financial backing to buy products ahead of time and store them as overhead. Usually the site will purchase the auction's product online after the auction is finished. Small volume sites will buy their products at the same sites you do: Amazon, Buy.com, OverStock, Wal-Mart.com, and so on. They shop online to avoid shipping costs. Thus, most new penny auction sites really are losing money. If you buy a $45 video game on a penny auction site for $0.10 cents (lets say $5.00 in bids) and the penny auction site really is losing $39.90 for that sale. However, some sites really do buy their products ahead of time if they find a good deal. Some will shop the Black Friday sales for great discounted products to sell on their penny auction site. One thing that is common among most all penny auction sites is that all of their products really are new.

Large Volume Sites:
Large volume sites like Quibids, BidCactus, Swoopo and others usually will fulfill their products through drop shippers. These sites have thousands and thousands of orders a day. Even if they were to buy all of their products from Amazon it would take a staff of 25 or more working all day to fulfill their products. What is a drop shipper? Drop Shippers are basically the middle man suppliers. Drop Shippers are wholesalers who can offer products at a good price and will ship products to customers. Quibids has multiple drop shippers most likely depending on their products category. Quibids probably has a drop shipper for home goods, electronics, computers, toys and so on. They have to do this because it is hard to find a drop shipper that would have the variety of products that Quibids has to offer. Quibids and any other site using drop shippers usually will negotiate a fee for each product fulfilled by a drop shipper. Now where do these drop shippers get their products? Drop shippers usually will have an overhead of products. They will buy a whole bunch of one product at a wholesale price. However, still some drop shippers still shop the same way you or I do: Amazon, Buy.com, OverStock, Wal-Mart.com, and so on.
