How Does Quibids Work
How does Quibids Work? This is a question that every penny auction fan is asking. Quibids even answers it themselves on their Quibids 101 page. Read below or go directly to Quibids.com by clicking HERE
How Does QuiBids Work?
QuiBids isn’t your basic online auction model. It’s a unique, fun,
exciting way to take the traditional auction model that’s been around
for 100’s of years and spice it up a bit. With that said, at times
there can be some confusion as to how exactly the auctions work. So,
we’ve decided to write a detailed explanation in case you might be
confused.
Getting Started
Before you can get in on the bidding, you’ll have to first register an account on QuiBids. On the home page simply click the “Register” tab on the main tool bar or click on the Orange Button that says “Register Now” on the banner. Once you finish the process of registering an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail account you provided. Through this e-mail you can confirm your account. If you haven’t seen the e-mail from QuiBids, check your Spam folder to make sure that your e-mail program didn’t mistakenly identify it as unwanted. If your confirmation e-mail did end up in your spam folder, take a moment to add QuiBids to your safe senders list. Once you have confirmed your account you are ready to buy bids and get started!
Buy Bids
The next step is to buy bids. There are two ways to buy bids. You can either buy bids immediately after you register, or you can click the “Buy Bids” tab on the main menu at a later time. There are 5 different sizes of bid packs to buy. Most users will start with a Beginner Bid Pack while they try out their first few auctions. Once you have selected a size of bid pack, just simply add your credit card and billing information and you're almost ready to partake in your first auction! Remember, when purchasing bids you are buying the right to place bids and each bid is worth $0.60. Purchasing bids doesn’t guarantee you’ll win, but of course we have the “Buy it Now” feature which we’ll discuss in a bit.
Learning the Ropes
Once you’ve made it this far you will see bids show up in the upper left hand corner of your screen. This will update every time you place a bid on QuiBids. Now before you just start bidding, we highly recommend that you take a few minutes to watch a couple auctions and familiarize yourself with the pace and the dynamics of our auctions. On the home page you will see an Ending Auctions section that has the auctions closest to ending. Each of these auctions has a timer, a price, a bidder name, a picture of the product, and a colored banner with a cent number in the upper left corner. Here is what it all means.
The Timer
The timer counts down consecutively until it gets below 0:20 seconds. From that point on the timer will reset to 0:20 seconds giving other bidders the chance to decide to make a final bid. At first the timer will reset to 0:20 seconds each time a user bids on the auction. If the auction is still going after a certain number of bids, we drop the timer to where it will reset to 0:15 seconds each time a user bids on the auction. Finally, if we feel the auction is going on for too long, we’ll drop the timer to where it will reset to 0:10 seconds each time a user bids on the auction. When the timer reaches 0:00 the auction ends and the last person to place a bid wins the right to purchase the item for the final price.
The Price and the Colored Banner with a Cent Number
Each auction has a specific amount that the price increases each time a bid is placed. On a one cent auction the final sale price will increase by $.01 each time that a bid is placed. On a two cent auction the final sale price will increase by $.02 each time that a bid is placed. The price represents what the person who wins the auction will pay if the auction were to end at that point.
Bidding
There are two different ways that you can bid. The first way to bid is to simply move the mouse cursor over the bid button and click. Your bid will be recorded and your name will show up as the highest bidder. Each time that you are outbid by another user you will need to manually click the bid button again in order to bid.
Sometimes there are situations where users need to temporarily take their focus off of an auction but would like to instruct QuiBids to continue bidding for them. The Bid-O-Matic feature is designed for these types of situations. Simply instruct the Bid-O-Matic how many bids you are willing to spend and in what price range you

*The prices vary and are sold in packages. The price structure is difficult because each package is set up as a special. It is hard to determine the price behind the package.

Comments: Although the Bid Moo cow is cute, the site definately needs some work. For starters, I could not find any point of contact for the company. For this reason, I would not recommend buying from this site. Next, on the About Us page it reads, "We became interested in Penny Auctions first but we found out that it costs a huge amount of money to survive, we calculated you need minimum $15,000 to start a penny auction just to last for a year. We realized the best way to last was to create a website that starts below retail and goes Down not up! We are in it for the long run, not just this year. " This tells me that Bid Moo does not even have $15,000 backing itself up. The site seems very amiture and unprofessional. I do like the concept of a dropping price and "scratching." However, it does not seem that the creators put much more work into the site beyond the concept.

Bidding on the most desired? - Suggestions from Quibids
Going After the 'Big One'
Source: Quibids
Who wouldn’t like to win a Apple Macbook or a new Samsung LED Television for $24.60? QuiBids offers this opportunity every day to its users. What is the best way to win one of these auctions? Here’s what we recommend:Have Realistic Expectations
First, go into an auction with realistic expectations. It is important to understand that the most expensive items also have the most competition. Items that are over $1,000 in cost will often generate a lot of interest and bidding. It is not uncommon for these items to have over 100 people bid on them during the life of the auction. These auctions are high risk/high reward and they should be treated that way. Winning these auctions with a small number of bids is possible and happens every day. Recently, user SHILE06 won a Nikon D90 12.3MP DSLR Camera + Lenses with only 4 bids placed! This is not the norm however. Most users that win more expensive items have placed a significant number of bids before winning. Feel free to try your hand at winning with only a few bids placed, but do so with the knowledge that the odds are small of successfully winning.
Homework Does Pay Off
Second, focus on an item that you would like to win and watch auctions containing this item. There are many different factors that affect what price an item will ultimately sell for. Many of these things can be learned over time by watching and observing. For example, certain items will generate more competition and bidding at night than in the afternoon. Savvy users are often rewarded for doing research before bidding on a large auction.
Focus on the Goal
A couple more tips before you get started. Focus your bidding on one auction at a time. Users who focus their attention on one item have a higher success rate and are generally more satisfied with their experience using QuiBids. Also, go into an auction with a sufficient number of bids so that you will not have to leave the page to buy more bids while the auction is going on. Finally, set a budget of how many bids you are willing to spend and stick to it.
What if I don’t Win?
We are committed at QuiBids to provide our guests entertaining shopping and great deals. One way that we stand by this commitment is through offering the option to “Buy it Now”. The “Buy it Now” feature allows you to use any bids that were placed during an auction towards the retail market value of that product. It is our way of showing how much we appreciate your business.
We hope this helps you pull in the “Big One” and we’d love to hear from our users of other tips they have to help win the “Big One” in our comments section below.
QuiBids does not guarantee that using the above suggestions will lead to winning any auction. The article above should be viewed as an opinion.

10 Tips for New Users on BidCactus:
Source: BidCactus
The following is a section of suggestions from the Bidcactus staff. They are not guaranteed strategies. If you have a tip or trick you'll like to recommend, please email us here.
- Before you get started, be sure to check out How Bidcactus Works and our FAQs section.
- Be patient and observe the site before you bid. Watch a few auctions as they come to an end and develop your own strategy.
- Don't spread your bids too thinly. Focus on one or two auctions at a time to maximize your chances of winning.
- It's better to bid late in the game. Wait until there are ten seconds or less on the clock before you place a bid.
- Watch for our slower times and take advantage of them. When everyone is off enjoying their morning coffee or stuck in rush hour traffic, you can walk off with great deals.
- Arm yourself with enough bids to win the item that you want.
- Always keep an eye on the number of remaining bids in your account and purchase more if needed. You don't want to run out of bids at an inconvenient moment.
- Look for hidden opportunities. If everyone is buzzing around the TV, then scoop up the $50 Visa card and splurge on something wonderful.
- Take advantage of the great Bidcactus promotions - refer a friend to earn 5 free bids, or join us for Happy hour Fridays.
- Have fun!!!

Private Auctions - FAQ
Many sites offer private auctions (Biddingyard.com, eMaja.com, BidPigs.com). First, what is a private auction?
Private Auction:
Private auctions limit that amount of bidders that can participate in that auction.
How do you participate in a Private Auctions?:
Private auction rules vary site to site. At some sites it is free to participate, first come first serve if you will. At other penny auction sites you must use bids to secure a seat in the private auction. The participation cost might also vary auction to auction.
Why participate in a Private Auction?:
Since there are a limited amount of bidders, there are less members to compete with. Less competition means a great chance of winning.
Why should you not participate in a Private Auction?:
Private auctions usually attract experienced bidders. If you are not an experienced bidder, you should focus on open auction until you become experienced.
